South - East Europe Leadership for Development and Integrity - SELDI

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs in January 2013 started with implementation of the two year regional project - Civil society for good governing and anticorruption in South-East Europe: Building capacities for monitoring, representation and raising awareness. Index of Economic Freedom 2013

The OHRID Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs, with great pleasure, announces the Index of Economic Freedom, published by the Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal. Namely, in the Index for 2013, Republic of Macedonia is ranked on the 43rd place in the world when it comes to economic freedom, and it is 21st out of 43 countries in Europe. more...

International Property Rights 2012

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs is announcing the release of the 2012 International Property Rights Index (IPRI), which measures the intellectual and physical property rights of 130 economies from around the world. The IPRI is an annual study that compares countries in terms of their protection of property rights – both physical and intellectual. Like previous editions of the IPRI, the 2012 report seeks to investigate the effects of a country’s strong legal and political environment, recognition, and enforcement of physical and intellectual property rights on the economic development of a country. The 2012 IPRI is comprised of a total of 10 variables, which are divided into the three main components: Legal and Political Environment (LP), Physical Property Rights (PPR), and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). more...

Freedom House 2012

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs traditionally follows the place that Republic of Macedonia takes in the world Indexes, namely the progress the Republic of Macedonia does depending on the various indicators. According to the level of democracy, Republic of Macedonia is a partly free country. Index of Economic Freedom 2012

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs, with great pleasure, announces the Index of Economic Freedom, published by the Heritage Foundation and Wall Street Journal. Namely, in the Index for 2012, Republic of Macedonia is ranked on the 43rd place in the world when it comes to economic freedom, and it is first in the region. The grade for Republic Macedonia is 68.5 points, which puts Republic of Macedonia on 43rd place and in the group of countries with moderate economic freedom. more...

Doing Business 2012

The OHRID Institute for Economic strategies and International affaires is honoured to announce the “Doing business” Index for Republic of Macedonia for 2012. Republic of Macedonia is the third best country worldwide for doing business in 2012 according to the World Bank. Index of Economic Freedom 2011

The OHRID Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs has the honor to announce the Index of Economic Freedom 2011. The Index is prepared by the Heritage Foundation, and the OHRID Institute as Macedonian partner translated the analyses for Republic of Macedonia. For many years, The Wall Street Journal and The Heritage Foundation have been measuring countries' commitment to free market capitalism in the "Index of Economic Freedom." Multiparty Football Tournament

The OHRID Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs, under the patronage of the Embassy of the United States of America in Republic of Macedonia organized Multiparty football tournament titled - Fair Play: “Mutual effort for mutual success”. The tournament was held on 25th and 26th June 2011 at the “Boris Trajkovski” Sport Centre. 40 young politicians from 18 political parties in randomly mixed formation played in 8 teams. The main purpose of this tournament was to promote collaboration, unity and interaction among the young political leadership in Republic of Macedonia. more...

International Property Rights Index

The OHRID Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs is announcing the release of the 2011 International Property Rights Index (IPRI), which measures the intellectual and physical property rights of 129 nations from around the world. This year, the OHRID Institute, along with other world-wide organizations partnered with the Property Rights Alliance in Washington, DC and its Hernando de Soto Fellowship program to produce the fifth annual IPRI. The IPRI uses three primary areas of property rights to create a composite score: Legal and Political Environment (LP), Physical Property Rights (PPR), and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). more...

Guest Lecturer Edward Kukan

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs in cooperation with the Pan European Union of Macedonia on 21st February, 2011 in hotel Holiday Inn, organized public lecture on the topic “The Road and the Experience of Slovakia in the EU Integration Process – Lessons Learned”. Guest Lecturer

The Ohrid Institute for Economic Strategies and International Affairs, Skopje in cooperation with the Pan European Union of Macedonia held lecture in honor of the respected guest H.E. Georg von Habsburg, Ambassador of European Affairs in the Government of Republic of Hungary. H.E. Georg von Habsburg is the youngest son of Oto von Habsburg, the last imperator of the Austro- Hungary and inheritor of the Habsburg dynasty. The renowned guest spoke on the topic: “The priorities of the European Union in Time of the European Presidency and the Hungarian Experiences in the EU integration process” The lecture was held in hotel Holiday Inn, and besides the respected guest, the president of the Pan European Union of Macedonian Mr. Marjan Gjorcev and the Honorary President of the Ohrid Institute Mr. Andrej Lepavcov also addressed the public. more...

 

 

After few months exhausting preparation the Ohrid Institute finalized the project Youth political dialogue among the young politicians in Macedonia. Young politicians of 18 political parties in Macedonia completely supported the idea and participated professionally. 

The three big forums were held in Skopje, elaborating different topics focusing on the political dialogue, the political culture, mutual initiatives and the communication among the young politicians from different political parties. More than 160 young participants participated at the forums and tried to find mutual language to discuss the given topics.

The youth was exceptionally constructive, showed need for this kind of dialogue and wish for discussion and concrete initiatives. After the elaboration of the conclusion the Ohrid Institute will post them at the official webpage of the project www.youthpoliticaldialogue.mk and at the official webpage of the Institute.
